James McWhinnie photographs, [c. 1864-1870s].

Two carte-de-visite photographs of James McWhinnie, a sergeant with the 20th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. One photograph, a head shot, was taken by James W. Black of Boston [1864-65] and the other, of McWhinnie in uniform following his injury at the Battle of Chancellorsville in May of 1863, by M. Moulthrop of New Haven, Conn., probably sometime in the 1870s.
